If you are not a regular at Lakeland’s Smoothie King (south side near the Polk Parkway and Wal-Mart), then you are missing out on a huge learning opportunity; they are the current kings of using social media to build their local business.
What this means:
- They are growing business using powerful social media, even in the middle of a down economy!
- You and I get discounts on smoothies!
For example, I just got the following text, which is causing me to head out early, get an inexpensive smoothie, and I am on my way:
“Hurry in before 10:30 a.m. & get a 20oz. for only $1+tax. No Hulks, shakes, or malts.”
Since I love smoothies, I am headed out now to get one. Is this just part of the “social media” craze? I do not think so.
I think that this is a powerful application by a local business answering the question “how can we create win-wins for ourselves and our clients” and answering that with a tool that their customers use, in this case, text.
What tools do your customers use that you can use to relay your message to them? What win can you create that is valuable to them?
