Book: Jesus Wants to Save Christians by Rob Bell and Don Golden

On my quest to consume 52 books this year, I come across many titles that make me laugh out loud. Sometimes the book actually impress me as well.

Jesus Wants to Save Christians by Rob Bell and Don Golden was that book this year. In short, it was a surprise because, in my humble frequent-reader opinion, it did not stay on the topic of Jesus trying to reach Christians much at all. (That was a huge disappointment!)

Despite this fact, Rob and Don man-handled some serious topics regarding empire building and the responsibility of Christians to weigh seriously the impact of their actions and complacency. (So, it sounds like they touched on it more than I first presented. Possibly, but I had to interpret most of that by deductive reasoning!)

Why I bought this book: The title of course!

What format did I consume it in: 3 hrs…flat. That’s because I got it in audio, baby! BAM!

Would I Recommend This Book: Absolutely. You have to read this book.

Why or Why Not: I would absolutely read this book because people who have a relationship with God have a gaping need. (One of many, I know.) That major need is to bridge the gap between the spiritual and natural, the metaphysical and the physical.

This book begins to bridge between the spiritual issues of what we believe (about the Judeo-Christian God) and our alignment with the current empire (the new “oppressor” according to Bell and Golden.)

If nothing more, it is a very interesting and quick read.

That’s the Sparked Book Review. BAM!
