Sparking

Sparking is the name for the movement I began in my own life to spark others’ vision, to ignite their lives toward success, and launch them into living a meaning life of significance.

The goal is to help others live more passionately and experience that feeling of success in a burning, passionate way as I have, and to add to others lives in a significant way.

Success & Significance; they go hand in hand.

Its about overcoming resistance (our mutual enemy), allying with great people (you and me), and living the Total Life Experience (the TLE).

Several times a week I write on Sparking (motivation and inspiration, awakening and awareness), Igniting (activating and equipping for success), and Exploding (living a life of significance, humanitarianism), and a few topics that help contribute to these. Once in a while I talk about the allies, local and global, in my life who are sparking me by living their own TLE in explosive ways.

I try to get clarity for myself, as well as share that clarity with you on:

  • Success and one’s explosive Life Vision is integral to living an ignited life. This is one I spend some time on.
  • Mindsets and Mentalities really determine the longevity of your spark and how long you can maintain focus and energy toward your goal.
  • The Global Movement, the value and importance of People, and having burning, passionate Relationships are important in that they are ways to give back as well as have exponential growth in all areas of your life.

The underlying theme in all of this is to launch you into the adventure of your life, and empower you to help others to do so, too. The adventure as I have found it is to find your personal life vision and let it drive you, develop and grow into a person who lives motivated and driven daily, and ultimately to live a fulfilled life in whatever you do.

* – An addendum I would add is that part of living your fulfilling life would be in giving back to others (serving, paying it forward, etc.) In terms of The Spark, it is to motivate and inspire those around you to live their own personal life vision. This final component, I believe, is the real secret because it makes whatever goal you are achieving or life you are living meaningful and fun. I cannot emphasize this enough: People are everything.

Lightin’ Fires for a Scorched Earth

My personal goal here is to completely ignite a fire in someone in every country in the world. It is to spark and launch you into your Total Life Experience* over the next 3 years. I  accomplish this through my regular writing here on the site as well as through some of the products I will be releasing in the near future.

I want to spark you.

I want it to incite a burning passion in you to live an explosive life, engulfing those you know and love. This is to cause a pyre of hope, optimism and excitement in the core of dynamite individuals in every nation in the world. The results of a chain reaction of a significant body of positive people living out happy, joyful lives would change the world. Imagine an Earth scorched with Energy, Effort & Enthusiasm.

Why?

As a pastor, a missions worker, and as a self-development coach I found that people all around me were not sparking each and every day. One day they were motivated. The next day we would start over. Or, more often the case was that they were not awake nor interested in waking up to a whole new passionate, exciting way to live.

This is the purpose of this site. I am trying to serve a) those who are not living a passionate, exciting adventure in their own life to Spark their reality, and/or b) those who are trying but need that regular Spark to get them up and running.

Simply put The Spark is activating and equipping people to live a fuller, exciting, more rewarding life; to live the Total Life Experience and the explosive adventure it can be.

How?

The How is spread throughout the site. However, in a nutshell, I believe that there are several key pillars to Sparking (motivating), Igniting (maintaining the Spark and motivation), and Exploding (Sparking others, giving back, and Launching at escape velocity.)

People: I believe that People are everything. You will see me refer to people quite a bit. Also, there is an entire section for you, Sparking Allies (Spark Soldiers), to help you Spark, stay Sparked, and help those in your life that you know and love to live a Sparked life as well.

A must in your People category has to be personal coaching or life mentoring. Find someone who has the results you want in an area of life that you want to grow in and ask if you can meet with them. Buy them coffee! Learn from them. More on this under mentoring.

Self-Education (self-growth, personal development, etc): Have you ever heard the phrase Be-Do-Have? Well, summarized, many self-development people talk about the fact that you have to “be” before you can “have”. Simply put, if I gave you a million dollars, you would lose most of it or be in tax trouble real quick…unless you already ARE a millionaire in your mind.

That’s an oversimplified version, I know, but the point is that before we can experience the feelings of living a successful life, we have to “be” it first. As a personal coach and self-development worker I would always get the question “how do I ‘Become’ first.” There are many answers to this, many of which are true.

The answer I most often give is “Educate.” I have over 400 books in my library, not counting the vast amounts of digital information I have read, watched or listened to. ALSO, there are the thousands of conversations I have had with mentors, friends, “gurus”, and people who were already doing the things I wanted to be doing. This, in my estimate, is the only way to really grow. (As an example, the year I “woke up”, Sparked, and started my path to living my TLE I read through Think and Grow Rich 13 times, read ALL of the Rich Dad series, and just CONSUMED material.)

Do the Work: I do not believe in short-cuts. Seriously. Anything we do takes some degree of work. Whether its you doing it or not, there is a ton of work to do. Zig Ziglar said, “You gotta move a ton of dirt to get the gold.” (Sidebar: sparking is energy. The word ‘energy’ comes from the Greek word ‘energon’ which means ‘to work.’)

Either way, nothing gets around the fact that you must Educate, then Apply. Educate, then Apply. Yes, in this phase is where we often gain Learning Experiences (i.e. so-called “failures”), but those spark our Education phase into HYPERDRIVE. There is no getting away from doing the work. The business needs to be built. The calls have to be made. The books needs to be written. The designers need to be managed. Simply put, we HAVE to put our learning to work.

Rinse and Repeat: What I have described above are not just pillars, but an upward spiral of greater and greater successes! Get around the right People (like me!, motivating friends, or anything that lights you up), take that spark and use it to work through some serious Education (mentoring appointments, books or audio, or targeted courses), then try to get your engines ignited and launch out into something. As soon as you succeed (or learn some hard lessons), reboot! Talk to some people. Donwload. Educate some more. Then Go again! (Learn how I am my partners lost everything in 2007 and using these principles rebuilt everything in a year.)

The fire in my mind is you. The fire in my mind are all of the people that drift through their lives like dry pieces of kindling floating on the wind. You and I need to spark our own lives to breath life and fire into those around us. It is a responsibility we have to wake them up, show them how to live a fuller, more-successful life, and then explosively Live Life Together! (After all, there is no TLE with other great people to live it with, right?!)
