It’s a funny paradox: you run into your type of people everywhere, but they are hard to find.

On this client trip, I found a little enclave of “My kind of people”. When we lived in the Dominican Republic, we found out kind of people.

You attract your kind of people, so it may seem like they’re everywhere. So you may be tempted to treat them like everyone else.

Don’t. Treat them like precious gem stones. Good people truly ARE hard to find.

Whether you’re meeting for the first time in a cafe in Indianapolis or meet for breakfast every week in your home town diner in central Florida, be with them.

Hear their story. Laugh with them. Challenge them.

Because this is the value we give and receive; the richness of our connection with our kind of people.
